My outfit of the month: April Kaki suit

Du Kaki en Avril

En français, on dit "En avril, ne te découvre pas d'un fil" et cette expression n'est pas anodine. On a tendance a rapidement laisser les manteaux et les écharpes quand un petit rayon de soleil pointe le bout de son nez. Moi ? Que nenni... Je garde mes bottes et mes manches longues !

In French, we say "En avril, ne te découvre pas d'un fil" (In April, don't even get out of one thread, which is the equivalent of the English "Ne'er cast a clout 'til May be out). We tend to quickly leave our coats and scarfs behind when a tiny ray of sun takes its toll. Me ? Absolutely not... I'm keeping my boots and my long sleeves !

Mars en combinaison noire

J'adore les combinaisons, mais elles peuvent s'avérer difficiles à porter pour certaines femmes. La combinaison fait partit de ces must-have avec lesquels tout le monde n'est pas forcément à l'aise.

I love jumpsuits, but they can be tricky to wear for some women. Jumpsuits are part of those must-have that everybody is not surely comfortable with.

Velvet

Je n'ai jamais été fan du velour quand j'étais plus jeune. C'est une matière que j'ai toujours trouvé arrogante. Oui carrément arrogante car elle me paraissait trop difficile à porter pour les jeunes femmes ayant des rondeurs. Et c'est le genre de matière que vos parents veulent toujours que vous mettiez pour les fêtes de fin d'années. *soupir*

I was never a fan of velvet when I was younger. It’s a fabric which I always found arrogant. Yes, downright arrogant, because to me it seemed too difficult to wear for the young women having curves. And it’s the kind of material that your parents always want that you to put on for Christmas and New Year holidays. *sight*

Je fais partie de ces gens trop occupés à profiter de la vie pour planifier correctement son shoot pour la tenue du mois, et qui se retrouve à faire ses photos le seul jour où il n'y a plus de soleil et où un début de pluie pointe son nez au Brésil à Rio de Janeiro... Ahahah ! Sans rancune le soleil ! J'en ai bien profité alors je ne vais pas me plaindre.

I am one of these people too busy enjoying life to plan correctly a photoshoot for the outfit of the month, and who finds herself making the shoot during the only day sun decides to hide itself and where the rain shows up in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro... Ahahah! No hard feelings sunshine! I enjoyed it so much that I ain't going to complain.

Metallic

J'aime beaucoup le doré, j'en porte souvent pour les fêtes de fin d'année, alors pour changer un peu de mon traditionnel noir et doré, je viens vous éblouir avec du bleu et de l'argent.

I like gold very much, I often wear this color for Christmas and New Year's Eve parties, so to change a little my traditional black and gold outfit, I come to dazzle you with the blue and silver look!

A la faveur de l'Automne avec Castaluna

L'Automne me rend toujours morose... Je suis une femme des îles et pour moi sortir écharpe et manteau me rappelle que je suis loin du beau temps de chez moi. Afin de me redonner du baume au coeur, je mise sur la couleur avec cette blouse à imprimé fleuri de chez Castaluna !

Autumn always makes me morose ... I’m a woman from the West Indies and for me taking back scarfs and coats reminds me how far I am from the beautiful weather of my homeland. To give some relief to my heart, I put on some colors with this floral print blouse from Castaluna!

✈ Traveling Girl Tips : How to keep calm with your carry on

Récemment, j'étais à Londres et il m'est arrivé le 2ème truc le plus embêtant qu'il puisse arriver à une personne quand elle voyage : arriver trop tard pour enregistrer un bagage en soute, donc à moins de 40 minutes avant le départ pour vol Européen.

Donc t'es frustrée comme pas possible, tu ne peux pas partir mais l'avion est juste là, à 2 pas de toi et il part dans 40 minutes... pffff ! Bon, je vais être franche, j'avais mal prévu mon coup. A la base je ne voulais pas mettre de bagage en soute, mais j'ai manqué de temps pour faire correctement ma valise... Arrivée au guichet commercial, l'hôtesse m'apprend qu'il n'y a pas de place avant demain 14h.. COMMENT ? Bin oui c'est les vacances scolaires.... Bref, ni une ni deux, je décide à contre cœur de me débarrasser de mes deux pots dépassant les 100ml autorisés en bagage cabine - un tube de crème Bioderma et un pot de gel Eco Styler déjà entamés - et je cours avec mon bagage taille cabine (OUF!) jusqu'à la porte d'embarquement.

Moral de cette histoire, je vous offre un article qui va vous permettre d'optimiser à 100% votre bagage cabine.

Lately, I was in London and the 2nd most annoying thing when you travel happen to me : I arrived at the airport to late to checked my bagage, so less than 40 minutes before departure for a European flight.

So you're just frustrate like hell, because you can't go, but your flight is just here, close to you and leaving in less than 40 minutes... pfff ! Well, frankly, it was my fault. Basically, I did not want to check my bag in, but I was pretty busy this week and did not get enough time to pack my bag properly.

Arrived in the commercial desk, the sales person warned that all flights were full and no place was available before the day after at 2pm... WHAT ? Well yeah, holiday season in France... Anyway, I did not think twice, I decide - with a broken heart - to get rid of all my liquids which weight more that 100ml : my Bioderma body cream and my Eco Style hair gel, and then I just ran with my carry-on to the gate.

Moral of the story, I'm offering you an article which help you to optimize 100% of your carry-on.

Le choix du maillot de bain peut s'avérer comme étant une épreuve quand on est ronde. Les complexes sont à la vue de tous et on se sent alors complètement à nu face aux autres. 

The choice of a bathing suit can be a struggle when you're curvy. The complexes are visible to anybody and we tend to feel completely naked in front of others.

Hanane et moi, nous nous sommes rencontrés pour la première fois au centre commercial Ibn Battuta à Dubaï. Elle m'a indiqué que c'était un de ces préférés.
